What is a fast sporty car like the mitsubishi ecipse?

Im looking for a car like the mitsubishi eclipse because i really like the eclipse but it seems that they are not very reliable cars. I have about $10,000 more or less to spend on it. Can you give me some ideas please.|||Mitsubishi Evo

Ford Mustang

Subaru Impreza

Chevy Corvette

Toyota MR2

Chevy Cobalt

Maybe a Chevy Impala SS but only if you put money into it.|||any fast car is not as reliable as you want it to be.

if you want a sports car, i'd look into an older (2000-2005) audi a4, or s4.

but since you don't seem old enough to pay your own insurance bill, i would hold off on the sports cars until you get older and become more experienced with driving.|||the only fast ecplises were the gsx or gst models which were turbo and the gsx was turbo plus all wheel drive, the eagle talon turbo is pretty much the same car as the eclpise gst , same engine just different company

for 10,000 you could get a nice civic si, prelude %26lt; make sure you get a 5th gen which was 97-01, integra gsr, nissan 300zx, toyota mr2, celica gts|||Hyundai Tiburon

Toyota Celica

Honda Prelude.

Those 3 cars were the main competitors for the Eclipse.|||An eagle talon.|||Chevy Corvette. Go to corvetteforum.com and look for cars for sale.|||I can think of some that are all under $20k.

Some are well above $10k, but a few of those can be found for cheaper if they have high miles, and the others might give you an idea. Otherwise you can save up for one if you really like it.

Personally, I like some of the German performance cars like the Mercedes AMGs and the BMW M3, but their fuel economy is not the greatest, to say the least. Other cars like the Neon SRT-4 and Eclipse GS-X, for instance, are pretty fast but also get around 30 mpg.

Remember to get a Carfax report on the car you are interested in.

Here are 25 ideas in no particular order:

1) Dodge Neon SRT-4 (MOPAR Stage 2 or 3 kit makes it really fast-FWD) This car is about the best "bang for the buck" for an inexpensive performance car

2) '95-'02 Chevy Camaro Z28 or SS (get the V8, not the V6-RWD)

3) Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-X (AWD)

A very fast one:

4) Toyota MR-2 Spyder (RWD)

The MR-2 Spyder is slow, but it gets good fuel economy, and with a turbo or more powerful engine can be made to be fast, as it's quite light.

5) BMW E46 M3 (RWD)

6) Mazda MX-5 Miata (the new model with exposed headlights-RWD)

This one isn't fast either, but it's a RWD car, making it better for power increases. However, it's more difficult to give a bigger engine or whatever, because that will most likely mess up the weight balance.

Also, the new model is available with a convertible hardtop, which I think is pretty cool.

7) '93-'95 Mazda RX-7 (twin turbo-RWD)

8) Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo (RWD)

Here's a fast one:

And another:

9) GMC Typhoon (fast SUV-RWD)

10) '04-'06 Pontiac GTO (RWD)

11) Mitsubishi Lancer Evo (AWD)

12) Subaru WRX STi (AWD)

Both of these (11 %26amp; 12) are fast, handle well, and can take power increases fairly well. After all, they're essentially street-legal rally-cars.

13) MazdaSpeed3 (FWD)

14) 2008 Chevy Cobalt SS (turbo-FWD)

15) Dodge Caliber SRT-4 (FWD)

A more refined car than the Neon SRT-4, this one is also heavier and not quite as fast, but still quick.

16) Mercedes C32 AMG (RWD)

17) Mercedes C55 AMG (RWD)

18) Audi S4 (RWD)

19) Audi S6 (RWD)

20) Subaru WRX (AWD)

21) Acura RSX or RSX Type S (FWD)

22) Acura Integra VTEC or GS-R (FWD)

23)Toyota Celica or Celica GT-S (FWD)

24) Mustang GT (RWD)

25) Mazda RX-8 (RWD)

More sub-$30k cars:

A few 0-60 times:

GMC Typhoon: 5 seconds or less

GTO: about 4.7 seconds.

M3: About 4.5

SRT-4: 5.5

MazdaSpeed3: 5.5

2008 Cobalt SS (turbo): 5.5

Audi S4: About 5 seconds

Audi S6: 6 seconds or less

Mercedes C32 AMG: About 4.8 seconds

Camaro Z28: 5.5

The Camaro SS is probably faster than the Z28.

The SRT-4 can decrease that sprint to below 5 seconds with a MOPAR Stage 3 kit, while a Stage 2 will make it run low-5s, probably.

The Acura RSX Type S does 0-60 in 7.8 or less (no faster than the 6-second range, if that). The Miata and MR-2 Spyder both get from 0
