Does anyone know how to use the ipod adapter on a 08 mitsubishi eclipse?

I recently got a 2008 mitsubishi eclipse. The car came with the ipod adapter cord installed. When I plug in my ipod it recognizes it. But I can't figure out how to get the music to play out of my speakers. I tried hitting just about every button. Anyone know? My manual says nothing.|||Did you setting the ipod's volume to half.
