Can I swap a transmission from a Mitsubishi Montero sport to a Eclipse?

I need to find a transmission for my 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT 3.0L V6. I found a guy selling a transmission from his Montero Sport both cars have the same type of engine but i dont know if the tranny is going to work for my eclipse help!|||No it will not work. The Montero is rear or 4 wheel drive where as your car is FWD.|||no.|||as in above no for the gt you will need to find the trans that goes with the car
