How many have had the blinking green light of death on their Mitsubishi rear projection ws55813?

This is a faulty design. Check out online, there are hundreds of posts regarding the mitsubishi rear projection tv. My problem is with my ws-55813. The green light of death popped on, so it won't work. Techs say $1000 to fix it. Posts online say it costs $5 do it yourself. I'm no technician. Mitsubishi should honor a repair for this monumental problem.|||FIRST....did the TECH replace the CAPS in the DM module??

If he didn't....he's assuming the WORST case scenario and ESTIMATING for that....

In your situation, CALL a Mitsubishi Authorized Service center (God I hope this other guy wasn't one !)

I do Mitsubishi service....and it looks like the Mitsubishi Service website is presently undergoing maintenance this morning....

Otherwise, I would have priced out a NEW DM module and seen if that's what he was estimating.....|||We get those in all the time, repairs on those generally run about $180-$250.

Its just some bad capacitors on a difficult to get to board. Its not really a design flaw, its just Mitsubishi got a certain value bad batch of caps.|||Mitsubishis make bad tvs. i got a projection tv and it failed after 5 years but then after 3 months it fixed itself. so they are not that bad after all.
