How do the current Mitsubishi Eclipses only get 28mpg highway when mustang?

With 162 horsepower with a 4ccl when a new mustang gives you 305hp and a whopping 31mpg highway... i love mitsubishi but something is wrong here.|||I remember there is a question similar to your question asked by someone few days ago. Someone has answered it very well, and the answer has been chosen as the best answer. You can try to search it in search function above, hope you luck|||It's all in the motor... ford is stepping up their game and creating more fuel efficient, powerful engines. American Cars are making a come-back!|||New Corvette gets 28 mpg highway.|||Honda B16 is correct. I saw an article about a Porsche GT3 driver who went 400+ miles on a single tank of gas....basically he drove under the speed limit and never goosed it and started slowely...|||remember these are ESTIMATES. They could say the Mustang gets 50 mpg, because it is not federally mandated to be accurate due to the fact that different driving habits cause different gas mileage. I know 3 people with the new mustang V-6 and they get an average of about 19-21 mpg with combined city/highway driving. In actuality the Mustang COULD get 31 mpg BUT only if you drive no faster than 55 mph, and accelerate EXTREMELY slow at red lights and stop signs.
